Budget Resources #2

::one {wo}man’s trash is another {wo}man’s treasure::  Another great budget resource brides should become acquainted with are the sites that “buy and sell brand new, gently used, never used, over-ordered, changed-your-mind wedding stuff!” {as Bride to Bride Boutique puts it}.  There are a ton of them out there and all it takes is your attention + time to find a great deal.

Bride to Bride Boutique {a free site} allows newlyweds to get some of their money back by selling their wedding items as opposed to letting them collect dust on the basement floor – this, in turn, gives a new bride-to-be “the bargain of her life!”  With a plethora of items to choose from, you really can’t go wrong!  My current favorite B2B bargain:

B2B - Birdcage lantern

{a lovely white floral filigree birdcage lantern}

 A similar site with a little more to offer is Bravo Bride, which also sells wedding items using the same categories that B2B offers. I found this soothing silk + ocean-inspired groom’s tie for under $20 bucks!

teak striped tie

little man tuxedo

{found this cute little man tuxedo for just $20 also!}

If you’re a bride that wants to shine in a designer gown on the big day but it isn’t quite in the budget, I recommend checking out Pre-OwnedWeddingDresses.Com.  This site lets you search by designer, size {and height!}, price range, style + location.::very accommodating::.  I found this absolutely gorgeous Melissa Sweet gown for $1700 off its original price!

 MS gown

Ebay {huge fan} is also a great resource for finding those bargains to get you through your budget with a sound mind. I find it particularly useful for finding unique glassware, vases, vase fillers and smaller detailed aspects of the wedding.

vase||large glass aqua vase – just might need to purchase this one for my wedding!||

shoes {under $20 alert}

If you like the idea of these sites, but prefer to stay local, always:always:always look at craigslist! While it may take some weeding out, you’d be surprised at some of the gems you can find. Here are few local ones:

 CL gown{beautiful:never used:under $500}

CL heels{for the black detailed wedding}

CL centerpiece.::aqua:fun:centerpiece::.

Also, make sure to check the local classifieds, they’re perfect for the more unusual wedding items you might need {i.e. hay bales – which I’ll be using — or fruit for cocktail hour or day-after brunch – both of which I found there}.

As with the blogs, there are a ton of used wedding sites out there and these are just a few in the crowd.  If you’re consistent enough in checking with these resources you may just come across something you never could’ve imagined!

Hope these help . . . more money-saving resources tomorrow 🙂

A MAJOR P.S. If you’re an avid online shopper {like me} or plan on doing it for the wedding, make sure you check out Ebates.com before you buy. Talk about cash in your pocket! This site basically gives you cash back on purchases you make online from their affiliate sellers which include Kodak Easy Share {picture memory books anyone?}, WalMart {they have a wedding line} and even Ebay! Free to join.
